Super Smash Bros. Melee, (Japanese: 大乱闘 スマッシュ ブラザーズDX Dairantō Sumasshu Burazāzu Dī Ekkusu, Dairantou Smash Brothers DX), and often shortened to "SSBM" or "Melee", is the second installment in the Super Smash Bros. series published by Nintendo. The game was designed by Masahiro Sakurai, who also developed the Kirby and Kid Icarus series.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee, the player is capable of fighting against 3 other players or computer players (CPU's). To win, the opponent(s) have to be knocked off-screen, beyond the blast lines. It is controlled with a GameCube controller. One of the playable characters is Mr. Game and Watch, who made his debut in the Super Smash Bros. series in Melee. He uses moves that are mostly based on the Game & Watch games he appeared in. There is also a stage called Flat Zone, which takes place inside an original design of Game & Watch labelled Super Smash Bros., but is heavily inspired by Helmet.

Pallette swap for Mr. Game & Watch.
